Seebar in Kiel

We got married there in July 2020 and felt we were in very good hands. All employees tried very hard to make our day as nice as possible. The circumstances were a bit adverse, we had 12 degrees and rain (thanks again for the patio heaters!) and felt the worst weather of the whole summer, plus Corona and therefore only a small wedding party. The wedding can only be booked as a package through Kiel Marketing (includes the sun terrace as a location, a registrar, a small champagne reception and exactly one flower arrangement from an event manager). The basic decoration was very nice and was provided by the Seebar (you are responsible for tables or you can book additional decorations and flowers from the event manager or you can take care of it yourself ?, white tablecloths were definitely available). For our small wedding party, we ordered coffee and cake a la carte after the wedding and the team at the Seebar served us quickly and easily. During the whole time there was only one employee there for us. The price-performance ratio was also surprisingly very good. We can only recommend the Seebar for civil weddings! Of course, just for a sundowner or to go out to eat. The location is just great.

Decoration on the tables and throughout the place is appropriate and stylish. The bathroom is always clean and all in all the place gives a harmonious impression. I haven't been so impressed by an inn for a long time.

Really really good. Very rarely go to a pub / bar / restaurant and have nothing to complain about. Very friendly staff. Super service-oriented. The food was very good too. I would love to come back: D

Had lunch for lunch, had Seebar burgers - very tasty, a pizza also super good, plus a great view of the bay. But not very cheap, but it was still ok. Would go again and recommend it to others ?

Standard. Nothing more, nothing less. We were there at breakfast time and placed a slightly larger order. What the staff was already overwhelmed ... Half did not arrive or very late. Price / performance ratio is a joke. 22 € for breakfast for 2 people, which was really not more than standard, is simply usury! The staff was very friendly, but seemed overwhelmed. All in all, OK!

Very nice and friendly service - prices for breakfast with drinks are a bit higher. But it is completely compensated by the great atmosphere on the jetty and the quality of the food! Highly recommended! Tip: Bring a small blanket or pillow for the chairs on colder days. You just sit on the water and the patio heaters can't do everything.

A nice atmosphere makes the somewhat simple kitchen go away. The location on the jetty is very nice and especially inviting in the evening. Perfect for a drink with snacks. Unfortunately, the menu doesn't offer any more. We also had some bad luck with the service (for discussion). Apart from that, we had a very nice evening in the Seebar.

Usually this location is really perfect: great location, maritime facilities. However, I have to mention that the supervisor and waiter, who is responsible for the seats and reservations, is super cheeky and an unsympathetic man. He answers simple questions very sloppily, plays himself and even becomes disrespectful to the guests. That really messed up the stay and the atmosphere in the Seebar lately.

I was here for the first time today with my boyfriend. We were friendly and accommodating. But our way of doing things was misunderstood. We were not accepted as customers or guests. Instead of friendliness, we experienced ignorance and ignorance. We value light and love all over the world. And we were placed directly next to strangers without any distance, and that in Corona times. That's a no-go! Something like that should be reported!

Went here for breakfast for my milestone birthday - with my 10 month old daughter. I'm really a laid-back and pragmatic guy, but the boss of the shop is really wrong. Not only does he make a face when the shop opens as if he would like to throw every customer over the balustrade into the Baltic Sea, no; He also has snappy and rather sloppy sayings in store - all in all, a real guy! Background - He sits us at a high table (1.5m high) with two bar stools and a 10th month old child! He doesn't care that my daughter is just 70cm tall and can comfortably sit under the stool. His colleague or colleague was much more attentive, pleasant woman! She immediately saw that not only was a chair missing for my daughter, but that the place might not be as suitable as a young family. She tried relatively diplomatically to negotiate with the giant boss - he really wanted to throw us into the water. All he had left was the comment "Then they should have ordered another seat" - Thanks for this incredibly informative insight, which I never came to - He was right, but he could have acted service-oriented - In the restaurant! ... in short; The staff are friendly, the breakfast was ok, the price was juicy and the boss has certainly had better days in his professional life so far.

The location of the Seebar is great and invites you to rest after a walk along the keel line. There were four of us there at the end of August and we were initially happy about the charm of the bar with a direct view of the water. After our visit, however, we cannot understand all the positive reviews. Since the weather was good, we were very happy about the space right on the jetty. After a while the sun was so strong that we asked to open one of the existing parasols. Here we were told that this was not possible due to the wind - in our opinion an excuse, as there was only a light breeze that afternoon, but the staff seemed quite stressed due to the high occupancy. In addition, the parasols in a lake (!) Bar should generally withstand a little wind. Nevertheless, we ordered four drinks (a spritzer, a lemonade, two Gentle Angels) as well as a portion of Kaiserschmarrn and a pancake. After a while, spritzer and lemonade were served, shortly afterwards the food - unfortunately two of us already had our drinks and food, the third person and I were still waiting. When asked, it was assured that it would not be long. Nevertheless we waited another 10 minutes for two orange juices with vanilla ice cream and had to ask again - in the meantime the food was almost finished and the waitress was annoyed when we asked again. When the Gentle Angels were finally served, the waiter accidentally spilled one of them over the table ... no problem, that can happen and does not affect the rating. But we decided to leave it with the one Gentle Angel, since we were ready to leave and didn't want to wait any longer. The drink, which was warm and expensive despite the vanilla ice cream, was unfortunately not tasty. On the other hand, Kaiserschmarrn and pancakes were apparently delicious. However, we cannot give more than two stars for the location and the delicious food for our visit, and it is questionable whether we will give the bar another chance in the future.

Great breakfast, combined with a previous swim in the Baltic Sea. Pure relaxation! The lounge upstairs is very cozy and well protected from the wind. The location with the view is fantastic!

Very nice restaurant with a very good selection. Prices are still completely within reasonable limits for the location. Very nice service and, above all, great location. The sanitary facilities could be renewed a bit. Otherwise everything was great!

Well the location and the restaurant is really very nice. But let's get to the details. The waitress tried harder but not. At 7.30 p.m. the first dishes were no longer served. At 8:30 p.m., we wanted to order a dessert and got the answer that the kitchen staff are stubborn and no longer want to do anything and then went home. Although the kitchen is open until 9:30 p.m. For me personally the first and last visit here.

Great location and nice service (I've had a different here before). Of two glasses of white wine that were served to us, one was cold (the air around the glass is also condensed) and one was not cold. White wine at room temperature is unfortunately not that great, therefore only three stars. The pizzas were delicious.

Really disappointed with my visit here. The view and location are amazing, as well as the service being pretty good. My problem is the food... Firstly, how can a place that is literally on the water, not serve fresh fish!? The menu consists of pizza and burgers... And they're not even very good. The food is simply not good enough. What a shame to waste such a great location.

Idea is nice, execution is so so. Corona restrictions on visitors is to blame for wait, but not the quality of the ambiance. If your gonna charge 3 star prices then run a 3 star quality establishment.

Nice spot to take a dip or have drinks with a big or small group..... Positive vibes on the water and cute little Strandkörbe as "changing rooms"..... Nice staff and very welcoming atmosphere......

We celebrated our wedding in the Seebar and it was perfect! You can discuss all wishes with the event manager, the planning was uncomplicated and nice. The celebration itself is wonderful: great food, nice staff and all guests are enchanted by the authentic maritime flair. Thank you so much! Regardless of this, the Seebar is also worth a visit in everyday life.

Lovely area to go for a swim in the sea. Costs €3.30 for adults for the day. There is also the option to rent a SUP from here. Food is reasonably priced and quick to arrive. There is plenty of seating around and you get wonderful views. If you arrive early there are also a few sunbeds at the very end of the pier. No parking nearby.

Wasp invasion. Great and fun place with a beautiful setting. But they had a Wasp problem so it was unbearable to eat there. If you are allergic to wasp don’t even go out on the pier. Never seen so many wasps in my life. They were on the food before you even had it served. The staff said it had been like that for long but they could not do anything.. this is not true, Wasps can be removed. Such a shame as I would have otherwise stayed there the whole day and gone there again.
